Welcome to Meg & Milo: Helping Little Ones Feel Brave

Hello and welcome to the world of Meg & Milo!

We’re so excited to finally introduce our new children’s book series designed to help young children understand healthcare, illness, injuries, and the wonderful people who care for them when they are unwell.

My name is K. T. Blackson, and I’m an experienced UK Paramedic who has spent many years helping families during some of their most worrying moments. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how frightening a visit to a clinic, ambulance, or hospital can feel for a child. Even minor illnesses can seem overwhelming when little ones don’t understand what is happening.

That’s why Meg & Milo was created.

Meg is a kind and reassuring Paramedic who loves helping children feel safe and informed. Alongside her cheerful monkey helper, Milo, she answers questions, explains things in simple language, and reminds children that it’s always okay to ask for help when they feel worried.

Together, they live in Meg & Milo Town, a friendly place where children can learn about their bodies, understand common illnesses and injuries, and discover that healthcare workers are caring people who want to help.

Why We Started With Leo’s Itchy Spots

Our very first book, Leo’s Itchy Spots, follows young Leo when he wakes up covered in itchy spots. Like many children, he feels worried and uncomfortable. With support from his mum, Meg, and Milo, Leo learns what is happening and why it’s important not to scratch.

The story gently introduces children to a healthcare visit while helping parents start important conversations about illness, reassurance, and bravery.

More Adventures Are Coming

Leo’s story is just the beginning.

Future books will explore other common childhood illnesses, minor injuries, and healthcare experiences that many families encounter during the early years. Each story is written with young children in mind, using age-appropriate language, colourful illustrations, and gentle reassurance throughout.

Our aim is simple:

To help children feel less afraid, more confident, and better prepared whenever they need healthcare support.
